Explore the world of semiconductors, electronics, troubleshooting, and hands-on technology careers through an exciting summer experience designed for future technicians.

Whether your student is curious about engineering, enjoys building and fixing things, or wants to explore high-paying STEM careers, this camp introduces real-world technician skills in a fun and engaging environment.

Open to Dallas ISD students entering 7th–9th grade

CAMP Details

  • Dates: Late July (Mon–Thu schedule)

  • Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

  • Location: Multiple Dallas ISD area locations based on ZIP code demand

  • Cost: Free for selected participants

What Students Will Experience

  • Hands-on equipment-based labs

This initiative is supported through funding connected to the CHIPS Act, a national effort focused on strengthening semiconductor and advanced technology workforce.

About the Program

A Hands-On Introduction to Technician Careers

The Technician Summer Camp gives students the opportunity to discover what technicians actually do in industries like semiconductor manufacturing, electronics, advanced technology, and engineering support.

Students will participate in guided labs and activities focused on:

  • Diagnosing and fixing systems

  • Learning how electronic components work

  • Understanding semiconductor technology

  • Practicing teamwork and problem-solving

  • Exploring future education and career pathways

This experience is designed to make STEM careers approachable, exciting, and achievable for students across Dallas ISD.

We are working to widen access to students across Dallas ISD communities, including expanded outreach based on area demand and ZIP code interest.
