Volunteer at HAKcon

Join us as a volunteer at HAKcon—a high-energy, hands-on event where students explore what it means to be an engineer, creator, and innovator.

Why Volunteer at HAKcon?

At HAKcon, we believe in creating experiences that connect people, ignite curiosity, and help students envision their future in STEAM. As a volunteer, you’ll be part of that spark.

Whether you're guiding a station, encouraging engagement, or supporting logistics, your presence helps us create a welcoming, playful, and purpose-driven environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Welcome early-arriving students at engaging STEAM-themed stations

  • Encourage participation and interaction between different student groups

  • Guide students in thinking like engineers using the engineering design process: Ask, Research, Imagine, Plan, Create, Test, Improve

  • Assist with event engagement during competitions and workshops.

  • Invite students to reflect on the activity via a short form (they’ll be entered into a gift card drawing!)

  • Embody our event’s three focus words:

    • Connecting – bring students together through shared experiences

    • Igniting – spark excitement and curiosity through hands-on learning

    • Envisioning – help students picture themselves as creators and innovators
