HAK Con: A FREE STEAM Field Day for Middle and High schools

 

HAKing Innovation is reimagining engineering for our youth. At HAK Con, we will help students from 6th grade to 12th grade by connecting their interests to engineering. With our engaging workshops, competitions, and exhibit hall, we will allow all students to see yourself in engineering.

We are thrilled to introduce the inaugural #hakcon, the first-ever conference of its kind, dedicated to fostering innovation across ALL disciplines including science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM.) This isn't just an event; it's the birthplace of the next big wave in tech and education for students in DFW.

A Note for our Educators

We understand that the end of the school year can be a challenge. HAKcon is here to help provide your students with one last experience that inspires them for the summer. We wanted to make this event Free as a thank you for the hard work of teaching our future engineers. We would appreciate your support, feedback, and shared excitement as we host the first of many great events.

FAQ

  • HAK CON is a student-centered, future-focused event rooted in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM). The event will feature robotics, hands on workshops, Drone Competitions, a STEAM expo, and a job fair - just in time for summer.

  • HAK Con is geared toward students currently in 6th -12th grade. School districts are encouraged to register groups of students for the HAK Con experience.

    We’re intentionally designing HAKcon for students who might not see themselves as engineers. We want to show that there is no set demographic, interest, or starting point in order to become an engineer.

  • We have registration from 8:30am to 10am. During this time we will have light snacks and activities for students. We will begin at 10am.

  • Friday is designed to be a STEAM Field day. We will have exposure based workshops that are hands on. We also will have local companies and businesses showing how they use engineering. Finally, schools that want to compete in low-prep competitions can do so as well.

    Saturday is meant for the community. Parents can sign their kids up for focused workshops and learn more about our summer programming options.

  • No you do not. We expect schools to sign ups for Friday, and parents to sign up for Saturday.

  • You can register using This link. Don’t worry if you don’t have all of the names of students identified. You wll be able to adjust that later.
